Coming right off the back of Dry January, Valentines has consistently been a fun one for us at the brewery. So back for 2023, here’s the Nirvana team’s date ideas:

Masterchef with a twist….

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to prepare a three-course meal and drinks; 4 components that can be split between two people. You are each in charge of designing dishes and drinks that best represent your significant other.

Whether you make an old favourite or try out a new recipe, cooking together is a fun and intimate date night, we just added a spot of adventure to it!

Cheese and AF Beer Pairing Party…

AF Beer and Mocktail Making Party…

Here’s a few suggestions to get those creative juices flowing!

Spicy Citrus Sangria : Thinly slice 2 lemons, 2 limes and 2 oranges, placing them in a pitcher. Add 4 cans of Jalapeño lager and stir. Pour into chilled glasses and enjoy!

Black Velvet : Start by slowly filling half the flute with Nirvana Dark & Rich Stout. Next, top the glass with a pour of alcohol-free sparkling wine. Now sit back and savour.

Hellesito : Start with one large shot of ANON spiced cane. Followed by a generous splash of Lime Cordial. Then, garnish with fresh mint stalks and slices of lime. Finish off by topping the glass with a chilled serving of Nirvana Bavarian Helles lager.

Pottery Painting Date…

With classes popping up all over the country, this is a fun and challenging creative option. You may even come away with something useful and beautiful. At worst a new garden ornament for the birds to sit on.

Dance Lessons…

What’s more romantic than taking your partner dancing? No matter your experience level or the style, dance lessons provide a chance to loosen up and just have fun with your love.

Horseback Riding… 

Those horseback riding on the beach scenes in the movies could be your reality! Even if you don’t have a beach nearby, going horseback riding along a trail is just as romantic.

As someone who tried it for the first time last year I honestly cannot recommend this enough. Challenging, exhilarating and a whole lot of horsey fun (think of them as giant cats and you’ll be fine).

Couple’s Meditation…

Looking for a way to strengthen your spiritual and emotional connection with your partner? Couple’s meditation or reiki sessions help you tune into yourself and your partner.

Escape Rooms…

Do you and your partner enjoy a challenge? Escape rooms are an exciting date night idea for the couple that wants to exercise their minds and put their teamwork to the test. Escape rooms are also a great idea for a group date night to celebrate Valentine’s Day with friends!

If the date goes badly, it’s only further motivation, right?

Movie Night…

The classic, we know, but brave the masses, pick a great independent cinema like those part of the Picturehouse group, and bookend the evening with some treats in a café, and a game of golf.

Tube Roulette…

The invention of one Conor Field, Tube Roulette is wonderfully simple. Pick a station at random, go, get out of the station and explore together. Bring a sense of wonder and adventure into your Valentines night out!

Visit a planetarium or take romantic walk under the stars…

Planetariums are beautiful, enclosed domes that make you feel like you can reach up and touch the stars. But it’s also getting dark nice and early, so why not wrap up warm and go for a walk. Exercise, time alone and a beautiful view of two.

Explore a museum…

Museums exhibit a variety of things that range from art to historic pieces. As a unique and interesting sober Valentine’s date, you and your date can visit a local museum and learn something new.

Go hiking and pack an evening picnic…

Hiking is a wonderful way to get some steps in while spending one-on-one time with your partner. Pack a bag, grab a couple of blankets and pick a nice spot with your spouse where you can enjoy a delicious supper together.

Last but not least, Axe Throwing…

Hear us out, participating in a healthy competition will often bring two people together and get those endorphins racing. Alcohol definitely not advised, but also not needed!
